Although suicide is relatively rare among children, the rate of suicides and suicide attempts increases greatly during adolescence. Suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15- to 24-year-olds.
The risk factor of teens nowadays is very high with more and more points getting released by the day , month and year with hundreds if not thousands of teenagers having no one to talk to or being too afraid to talk to a parent , friend or even a counselor (on the count of cause or abuse) so ignoring this young generation will be the soon demise of our worldly joys
Factors of suicide in a teenager
- Having a psychiatric disorder, including depression
- Loss of or conflict with close friends or family members
- History of physical or sexual abuse or exposure to violence
- Problems with alcohol or drugs
- Physical or medical issues, for example, becoming pregnant or having a sexually transmitted infection
- Being the victim of bullying
- Being uncertain of sexual orientation
- Exposure to the suicide of a family member or friend
- Being adopted
- Family history of mood disorder or suicidal behavior
